MicroFrance^® Levine Orbital Decompression Instrument Set

Thyroid eye disease, or Graves' disease, is the most frequent indication for orbital decompression. This disorder is characterized by exophthalmos that sometimes requires an intranasal endoscopic orbital decompression approach. The Levine Orbital Decompression Instrument Set is a unique set of instruments ideally suited for intranasal endoscopic orbital decompression.

The Levine Perforator creates the initial opening through the medial orbital wall (lamina papyracea), while the 15 degree angled suction curettes and picks help gently remove the lamina. Once the periorbita is incised, the angled forceps assist in teasing the orbital fat into the sinus cavity. The unique, serrated "gentle jaws" of the forceps do not close completely, allowing a firm, yet atraumatic grip to help prevent excessive bleeding and injury. The 10-instrument set is provided with a sterilization tray.
